Dark Chocolate Almond Butter

Nut Butters. They seem pretty popular these days, don’t ya thing? So, I figured I’d give it a shot. I mean how bad can dark chocolate be in a nut butter? What was holding me back, you ask? Well, the thought of making nut butter just sounds like such a long, complicated task. Silly meLittle did I know, that the hardest part is to just resist licking the chocolateSeriously, all you’ve got to do is  plop some almonds and a tiny bit of salt in the food process, whir em around for a bit, melt some dark chocolate with a teeny bit of oil and mix it all up! Wanna know what my favorite part is? It’s pretty easy to convince yourself that it’s healthy! Let’s think about this. Almond butter, healthier than peanut butter. Dark chocolate, good for your heart and better for you than other chocolates. There you go!
Nuttella lovers, please don’t hate me for saying this- I actually like this about 938479183 times better. Yeah. Really, get your food processor out!

4 Ingredient Dark Chocolate Almond Butter

(from Oh She Glows)

2 c. raw, unsalted almonds

pinch of salt

1/2 c. dark chocolate

1 T. oil (coconut, canola, or vegetable all work fine-whatever you’ve got!)

  1. Place almonds in the food processor and process for a few minutes. Once it starts to get a little smooth at the bottom, add in the salt. Keep stopping the food processor every once in a while to give it a break and scrape down the sides.
  2. Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate with the oil in a double boiler. Once the mixture gets to be a very smooth consistency, add in the melted dark chocolate. Mix it all up in the food processor until it appears to be all blended together. Enjoy!

Perfect for breakfast with some toast! :D
