Alright with the incredible amount of products I tried, I found it would be much easier to split it up into two separate posts.
There is really quite the variety here. One of the things I really like about these salsas was that little jars. The avocado salsa stayed so incredibly fresh and green unlike most sauces that have avocados that turn yucky brownish. And the plastic makes me so much less nervous than the regular glass jars. yep, I’m a nervous nelly.
The one that I was shocked that I found was my favorite, was the pineapple ginger one. It was perfectly sweet yet still, salsa-ey. Truly delicious with the Sea Salt Chips.
On the jars, the level of hotness is clearly marked. This is super critical for me, considering I’ve got some super sensitive taste buds. The mild is where it’s at for me!!
This being said, the Mild Homemade Recipe, the Sweet Pineapple Ginger, and Mild Avocado Salsa were my favorites. All super yummy!
However…if you like to be on the spicy side, the medium and hot ones should be right up your alley. Those were the favorites of my brother and I’m sure my sister would love them too. (She is crazy about spicy stuff. I’m fairly certain she has burned off the majority of her taste buds)
The story of how Salsa Lisa was started is actually pretty endearing and interesting. This stuff is just about as natural and fresh and you can get it. She started her business out her home and turned it into a stand at the farmer’s market and eventually realized her stuff was pretty darn good. Good enough to be sold in the grocery store! That’s just a very brief summary of the story. Read it all here!
So there you go, I tasted a grand total of 8 salsas JUST FOR YOU! The kinds of salsa I tried were Mild Homemade Recipe, Medium Homemade Recipe, Roasted Chipotle, Sweet Pineapple Ginger, Real Hot Homemade Recipe, Hot Avocado Salsa, Mild Avocado Salsa, and Tomatillo & Green Chile. It was some real deliciousness hard work. Keep your eyes out for Salsa Lisa!
