Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars

I’ve got some news here, not super exciting news, but news nonetheless. (Is that one word?)

Well, you know how the URL up there for my little bloggy has that “.WordPress” after it, well I wanna get rid of it.

I mean don’t get me wrong, though. WordPress has been great to me and all, and I’m gonna stick with them for hosting and everything. (Sorry for all this blogger-talk, all non-blog owners)

Anyhow, the point of me telling you all this is that my URL will  be changing within the next week or so. You can still get to Beautiful Disasters though by typing in the current URL with the “”!! :)

I encourage you all to either “like” me on Facebook here (or you can do it by clicking on the Facebook button on the sidebar over there –>) OR you can just subscribe to Beautiful Disasters by typing in your email over there (–>) on the sidebar in the “Stay in the loop!” section to be sure you are always updated with these little changes I make from time to time.

I know I sound like a commercial for myself right now, I’m sorry! I really am! I just don’t want anybody left behind without knowing where I went, because quite honestly I don’t know how smoothly this whole transition will go. I feel like I might be over-thinking this, but I guess that’s just part of me…

What I can guarantee though is that if you like me on facebook, I will have constant updates for you on changes. Also, subscribing will always bring you to the right page! :D

Finally, a quick summary of this recipe! These are delicious, simple little bars made with a yellow cake mix mixed with peanut butter. A gooey chocolate layer gives it the perfect balance. Almost too easy.  BEWARE: THESE ARE SUPER ADDICTING! enjoy :)

Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars

(Adapted from The Girl Who Ate Everything)

1 (18.25) package plain yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 eggs
1 (12 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 Tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons vanilla

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Combine cake mix, melted butter, peanut butter, and eggs in a large bowl using a mixer or spoon. Press this into a 9X13 pan reserving 1 1/2 cup of the mixture to crumble on top.
  3. In a small pot, melt chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
  4. Spread chocolate mixture over the mixture pressed in the pan and then drop by small chunks, the 1 1/2 cups of reserved cake mixture on top evenly.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into bars. Wait about a half hour before cutting and be sure they are completely cool, the gooey chocolate will make them a pain otherwise!
